Manufactured for over 40 Years
The Wood Gun series has been manufactured since 1981. The Super Wood Gun Outdoor Furnaces are the newest generation and the most efficient Wood Gun yet.
True Quality
Our outdoor wood boilers come with the industry’s best warranty. We stand behind our products and our team that handcrafts them. We use the best steel for the job: 1/4-inch thick Type-304 Stainless Steel. Our pressurized outdoor vessels have a 20-year warranty. The warranty completely covers the first ten years for labor and materials!
Pressurized Vessel
We all know what happens when water comes in contact with steel, rust. It may surprise you to learn that water cannot rust metal without oxygen (air). This corrosion is precisely why we do not construct an open/non-pressurized boiler. Our outdoor boilers are pressurized, eliminating rust from being a concern. Goodbye to constant water maintenance, yearly flushing, and all the chemicals that come with a traditional outdoor wood boiler.
Wood Gasification
These outdoor wood furnaces can use all the available BTUs in every piece of wood. Gasification means capturing and burning the wood gas, aka smoke. Smoke and creosote are unburnt fuels that pose a risk for fire and your health. These outdoor wood furnaces completely burn smoke and creosote, cutting usage in half. This means you will cut, stack, and load less wood. It sounds like a win, win, win.
Refractory
As the wood heats up, it releases gas. The induction fan draws the wood gas through the bottom of the firebox and into our uniquely designed refractory. We combine these wood gases with oxygen, which creates superheated and clean combustion in the refractory. Above the heat exchanger, the superheated refractory continues to gasify the wood remaining in the firebox.
Swirl Chamber
Our outdoor wood boilers use our unique heat exchanger, the Swirl Chamber. The Swirl Chamber is nearly 85% efficient. It cleans itself using high-velocity air and fly ash, which create a scrubbing action. This scrubbing action extends maintenance intervals to once per season.
Off-Cycle
The Outdoor Wood Gun cycles on and off like an oil or gas-fired boiler. During the off-cycle, we can close the air intake; air does not enter the boiler. With no oxygen, the flame goes out and stops producing heat. When the damper reopens, and air enters the boiler, the large and hot refractory immediately relight the fire, and the Outdoor Wood Gun begins heating up again.
